A NOTE FROM ERIK
Welcome to the first issue of our newsletter. The Passing Parade is an idea we've had brewing for quite some time, and we hope you will find this newsletter to be both interesting and informative. 2007 is a new year, and what better time to start a new tradition. Our plan is to publish a new issue not on a monthly basis, nor on any schedule for that matter, but rather whenever we have something interesting to talk about. We wrapped up 2006 with three great new releases, the Lana Lane - Gemini album, my own Erik Norlander - Hommage Symphonique, and of course the very long awaited new Rocket Scientists 2CD studio album, Revolution Road. All three of the albums have been warmly received not only in the USA but around the world, and on behalf of all the musicians involved, I would like to thank you all for your wonderful support. We have some news about interviews, reviews and airplay down below along with some general goings on about each of the projects. Last year we launched our MySpace pages, and now this year we're introducing our YouTube channel with videos from our DVDs and Enhanced CDs. As 2007 begins, we are looking forward to some exciting plans for the New Year including some live concert dates and new releases on the Think Tank Media label in conjunction with our new distribution partner, ProgRock Records. Rocket Scientists will perform on the American east coast for the first time at this year's ROSfest weekend in Pennsylvania on April 28. More live dates are in the works and will be announced SOON. Lastly, I am happy to announce Think Tank Media's new digs in El Dorado County in Northern California. Located about halfway between the state capitol of Sacramento and the resort city of Lake Tahoe, we are finding our new surroundings to be both creative and invigorating. After many years in the Los Angeles area, we were ready for a move ... north! We expect lots of great music to come out of this part of the state and are looking forward to uncovering what the future holds. In the meantime, please have a look through this newsletter -- I hope you'll like what you find!
El Dorado Hills, California, January 2007
LANA LANE NEWS
Gemini is Lana's new album of classic rock covers featuring an all-star band of Erik Norlander (k), George Lynch (g), Tony Franklin (b) and Vinny Appice (d). Gemini has been shipping advance release copies and is available for sale at both thetank.com and progrockrecords.com! The official US release date is January 30, 2007 when it will be available in major national chains. Like Erik's Hommage Symphonique CD, airplay is already happening at several internet and terrestrial radio stations and many excellent reviews have already appeared. Some notable reviews are located at Sea of Tranquility, Progressiveworld, Ytsejam and Metal Exiles Gemini has been receiving considerable accolades and airplay. Early popular consensus is the faves are White Rabbit and Pink Moon Suite. Everyone seems to be loving Lana's vocals as they interact with Kelly Keeling's on "Time". The vocal blend of Lana, Kelly Keeling and Rocket Scientist Mark McCrite was first made famous on Lana's Lady Macbeth album, and the tradition continues on Gemini. Check out the beautiful choral passages on not only "Time", but also the Moody Blues songs, "You Can Never Go Home" and "Nights in White Satin" as well as the Jefferson Airplane classic, "Wooden Ships".
